Heart Rythm
Heart Rythm: Usually the heartbeat is very regular, like the ticking of a clock. In adults, a normal heart beats an average of about 70 times a minute (a little faster than a clock ticks). Children usually have a faster heartbeat, about 90 times a minute. Women's hearts usually beat faster than men's. People who have trained for running or other sports have slower heartbeats than average. Their hearts are strengthened by exercise, so they can pump more blood in each beat. Athletes' hearts may need to beat only 50 times a minute or even less during rest. They speed up during exercise, but not as much as the average person's heart does.
