Path of Blood
Path of Blood: The path of blood forms a double loop. One route, called systemic circulation, wends its way through all the muscles, organs and tissues of the body, then back to the heart. A second, shorter circuit, the pulmonary circulation, travels only through the lungs. Pulmonary circulation changes blood from a purplish, breathless fluid into a bright crimson stream rich in oxygen.
